Meet Psychology Ambassador Rhysa Huffman ’27

Posted on 09.13.24 by Rhysa Huffman ’27 in College of Arts & Science

Hi! My name is Rhysa.Portrait of Rhysa Huffman.

I am a sophomore here at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½. I came to Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ right after graduating from Marist Catholic High School in Eugene, Oregon. I chose Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ because when I went on a tour it felt like home, the campus is so beautiful, and the people were so friendly I knew that I wanted to go here. I knew that Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ would be a place where I could make a positive impact.

I chose psychology as my major because I've always been really curious about people and why we act in the ways that we do. I absolutely love reading, going for walks, and hanging out with my friends. The beginning of my freshman year was a struggle because I didn't know anyone but what I realized is that all I needed to do was put myself out there and get involved. Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has so many ways that you can get involved, all you have to do is ask around and someone will find something for you to join. After getting involved I met some amazing people and found my way to some great opportunities that let me have a creative outlet. My best advice is to take advantage of all that Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has to offer! Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I know how wild the transition from high school to college can be, but I would love to help in any way that I can!
